Do mothers who overprotect their sons have a guilty concious or some sort of disorder that causes them to hold?

on so tight and interfere in there lives so possessively? What cause a son to submit to being a mommas boy at the age of 30+? and what cause a mother to feel the need to control her grown sons life in every way? Is this a normal act of love in the relationship of a mother and her son?
