How can I make my cat's litter box not smell so bad?

I'm already using dual strength arm and hammer litter, and it's a covered box. I empty it everyday but it still stinks once my cat uses it. Does sprinkling baking soda in it work? What are some tips to make the litter box not have such a strong odor?
