I think I've messed my hearing up for good shooting handguns?

I shot firearms for years without ear protection, and still hear very well. When I started shooting ear protection was not a big deal. As I got older and somewhat wiser I started using ear protection, and now I hate to shoot without ear protection. When hunting I don't wear ear protection, but always wear ear protection on the range. So to answer your question, the few rounds you fired without ear protection is not going to make you have to wear hearing aids early in life.
