Yep. Introductory level courses are taught for people that have no experience. Plus, many clubs welcome students with little to no background in the subject. If you want to try out something without too much of a commitment, I would recommend joining a club instead of taking a class. That way, you get some experience but you don't have to worry about the impact on your GPA.
