Just an awesome tip for moms (and dads) have any you want to share?

So some might already know this, and I might have just learned but we bought a foreclosed home about a month ago, and the carpet in the living room smelled horrible... it's in good shape, just had an odor to it. After I tried every carpet fresh on the market, nothing helped. After some research I found that baking soda takes the smell out. I sprinkled it on my carpet last night and woke up this morning to a completely FRESH living room. Apparently it works on all types of odors. I thought it was just for the fridge! If anyone has any other cleaning tips that really work would you share them with me please?
