Why don't black Americans know nor care to learn anything about their history?

I'm not talking about complicated things either. Most don't even know where their grandparents were born. Isn't that something you'd want to know..How do you even know if your not marrying your cousins..Why would anyone not want to know the fullness and richness of their culture and history and how it shapes your behavior?
